During a news interview about taxes, GameStop CEO Paul Raines gave a dry rundown of the games industry, then remarks the company will “launch the Sony product this fall.”
Even though Oculus Rift and HTC Vive Pre are ready to ship out, both headsets have been delayed in the past so it’s not surprising Sony is actually going to release the PSVR this fall opposed to the “early 2016” it previously promised.

Still, Raines may be referring to a specific launch date for GameStop and not an actual release date for PSVR. That said, it would only make sense for a retailer to make plans that coincide within a product’s launch window.
Fall is a bit later in the game compared to the other major headsets but most people won’t need a PC setup to use PSVR – just your run of the mill PS4, which is apparently VR-ready.
