Casio’s Android Wear debutant, first demoed back in January at CES, is now on sale.
It’s available in four colours – red, green, black and orange – and will cost $500. That’s pretty expensive given there’s no GPS on board but Casio will hope that the tough credentials of the WSD-F10 are enough to sway outdoorsy types.
Hands on: Casio Smart Outdoor Watch review
The Casio uses a US military standard MIL-STD0810 of dust and shock resistance and is waterproof to 50m.
It also sports a pretty unique display – at least for an Android Wear smartwatch. The 1.32-inch screen comes with a second monochrome display that can be used instead of the colour panel.
Instead of just a single day’s usage from the main 320 x 3o0 LCD touchscreen, the monochrome screen boosts the battery life to a month.
Pre-installed apps include fishing, trekking and cycling, and it’s compatible with the ViewRanger GPS app for trekking routes.
We’ll be bringing you our full Casio smartwatch review as soon as we’ve had to time to fully test it, so be sure to check back for updates.
